Dr. Jeanetta Hollins joined MCC as the Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) on January 8, 2024, providing leadership and direction for delivering high-quality student services and programs that support the success and well-being of Mesa Community College's diverse student body.

Dr. Hollins’ 25-year professional experience entails 15 years of progressively responsible higher education experience providing strategic oversight for student affairs and enrollment management areas at large public community colleges and a research university. Her most recent executive role was Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success at Virginia Peninsula Community College in Hampton, VA.

Overseeing a broad portfolio of areas critical to the student experience at 2- and 4-year public institutions, Dr. Hollins has served in such roles as: Dean for Community Partnerships; Assistant Dean for Student Success; Director for Academic Advising, Student Success, & Transfer Services; Financial Aid Coordinator; Acting Director of Operations and Planning; Coordinator, Student Academic Success, Financial Aid Advisor, and Academic Counselor. With a strong focus on advancing higher education, and dedication to unraveling the complexities of student access and student success, her record of successful outcomes includes spearheading operations, developing and executing innovative enrollment management plans, continuously enhancing student engagement, and growing recruitment, retention, and completion rates.

Dr. Hollins began her career in mental health and substance abuse counseling. Thereafter, she worked in alternative education and school counseling for charter and public-school systems. She is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hollins earned a Ph.D. in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University, a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
